Progressing cavity pumps, also known as eccentric screw pumps or Moineau pumps, are a type of positive displacement pumps used for pumping high-viscosity liquids, sludge, or abrasive materials. They consist of a rotary part, the eccentric screw (a helical rotor), and a stationary part, which is made of an elastic material and has a double helical winding.
